To touch is to confirm. We recall memories through touch, yet prolonged contact can make us forget the sensation itself. Even if shaped like a hand, a different texture reveals it as false. Through objects, we sense whether someone is present or absent. Sight and touch together affirm what is truly there. This work is completed by your touch. Close your eyes, reach out gently―and if you feel something, quietly let me know.
壊れてしまいそうなものをそっと抱えるとき、その手には自然と慎重さが宿る。守るように包み込むその手には、目に見えない責任がにじんでいる。この作品では、卵を抱く手のやわらかさとあたたかさをかたちにした。気をつけることを知っている手の感覚を伝えたいと思った。
When we gently hold something that seems like it might break, our hands naturally become careful. In the way they cradle and protect, there’s an unspoken sense of responsibility. This work captures the softness and warmth of hands holding an egg. I wanted to convey the feeling of hands that know how to be gentle.
